Elene Khomeriki is a psychologist and psychotherapist at the Guga Sikharulidze Mental Health Research Center. She specializes in the treatment of adolescents and adults facing fears, phobias, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, and addiction. She primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in her practice but, as needed, employs an eclectic approach tailored to the individual needs of her patients.
Dedicated to her professional development, Elene has completed advanced training at prestigious institutions, including “Psychology of Addiction and Recovery” at Stanford School of Medicine and “Building Personal Resilience: Managing Anxiety and Mental Health” from HarvardX. She earned certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) through the Academy of Modern Applied Psychology. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Caucasus University, graduating with honors (Summa Cum Laude).
She completed a comprehensive theoretical and practical academic course during her internship at the Guga Sikharulidze Mental Health Research Center, which covered clinical psychology, psychodiagnostics, and clinical psychiatry, along with supervised practical work with patients across a wide range of diagnoses.
Before working at the Guga Sikharulidze Mental Health Research Center, she gained practical experience at the LEPL Agency for State Care and Assistance for the (Statutory) Victims of Human Trafficking and as a Sport Psychology Intern at the Institute of Sports Psychology of Georgia.
Elene works at the Guga Sikharulidze Mental Health Research Center, specializing in art therapy, psychotherapy, psychodiagnostics, and scientific research. She has research experience in the field of psychology on topics such as burnout, anxiety, procrastination, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and others.
She is fluent in Georgian (mother tongue), English (C1), and Russian (C1).
