Child and Adolescent Assessment and Therapy

Difficulties in childhood and adolescence are mainly divided into the following categories: age difficulties, developmental disorders, and emotional difficulties. The therapeutic work in the areas mentioned above is primarily preceded by the evaluation process, where the main challenges are identified based on the interview with the parents and the initial interview with the child. The assessment process may last several meetings until the clinician gathers information about the child’s problems and ways to solve them. After the initial assessment, the family is informed about the existing difficulties, and the clinician recommends the necessary therapeutic services (behavioural therapy, psychotherapy, art therapy, neuropsychological evaluation, speech therapy, psychiatric consultation, etc.).

Parents’ timely responses to the difficulties revealed at the age of children and collaboration with a qualified specialist are essential for solving problems and improving mental well-being.
